Unique, whimsical design.
My story
Before I chose to pursue jewelry design I was a production potter. I spent over twenty years, first honing my craft and then producing and selling wheel thrown ceramics. Though I will always love pottery, I craved work that had a more sculptural aspect to it. When I discovered silver clay jewelry making, I realized it was the perfect combination of my love of clay and my desire to create intricate designs.
Jewelry making combines two important facets of my life: creativity and nature. I have always had a deep love of the natural world and the flora and fauna that comprise it. Living on a farm in Upstate NY, I simply have to walk out my door to find my inspiration. It is my hope that my work will help spark that same love of nature in others. And so No Stone Unturned Jewelry was born.
Design fun
My first design was an Elephant head. Elephants are one of my favorite animals. They have such a distinctive shape that I thought would be perfect for modeling. I had so much fun making that first design and learning about this new way of sculpting, I knew I was hooked.
The goal of my designs are to not only capture a realistic reproduction of an animal, but when possible, to capture the motion of the animal moving through its environment. Sometimes that motion is dynamic and other times the movement is more subtle, but I feel incorporating movement is one component that helps the work to feel lifelike.
